KING’S ACADEMY

You are cordially invited to attend the King’s Academy Senior Thesis/Project Presentations on Tuesday, June 3, at 7:00 p.m. in Ararat at RCC. As part of their graduation requirements, the seniors of King’s Academy must write either a 25 page persuasive thesis or complete a hands-on project (with a 10 page paper describing the project). 

A MUCH NEEDED REST: BUILDING A MISSION STYLE BED, by Josiah Evans
For his senior project, Josiah constructed a mission style bed learning a lot about carpentry and hard work along the way. See his finished project and hear him talk about the steps he went through to complete it.

A DEFENSE OF ADORNMENT: A DISCUSSION OF CHRISTIAN VIEWS ON PIERCINGS AND TATTOOS, by Amber Fukuda
For her senior thesis, Amber analyzes objections to body piercings and tattoos that are held by many Christians and explores what the Bible really says about this controversial topic.

This is a reminder that King’s Academy’s early registration deadline is fast approaching. If you would like to receive the early registration fee discount ($100 instead of $200!), we must receive your registration and fee by June 1. The registration form is available on the website.

Students, parents, board members, faculty, and friends of King’s Academy are all cordially invited to the KA End of the Year Party. Students will show off work that they have done throughout the year and also celebrate the completion of another year of studies. This year we are excited to anounce that two graduates will be receiving diplomas at this event (Josiah Evans and Amber Fukuda). Mark your calendars for Thursday, June 5, 7:00 p.m.

The applause for the May 2 and May 9 performances of “King’s Academy Goes to Broadway” hasn’t begun to die down yet. Both shows were a great success, with sold out crowds and rave reviews. Abigail Lortz provided a delicious three course dinner, Laurie Phelan and Coleen Darden amazed us with the lavish period costumes, and the students at King’s Academy sang their hearts out with songs from The Wizard of Oz, The Scarlet Pimpernel, and The Phantom of the Opera. Pete and Brenda from 104.1 fm The Fish emceed an exciting auction and raffle. Although the final numbers have not yet been tallied, we’re sure that we’ve exceeded our $4000 goal for this fundraiser. Congratulations, everyone, on a job well done!
